Patricia L. McIntosh Takes Young Readers on a Fun-Filled Journey to the Farm
Unique art, adorable characters and a catchy narrative await in new storybook

Dunkerton, Iowa – (Release Date TBD) – Patricia L. McIntosh, author of What's in our Community?, presents a new storybook that sparkles with her trademark hand-drawn illustrations and catchy descriptions. What's on the Farm will introduce readers to some of the people and animals that make up farm life.

McIntosh has been using her love for art to bond with her grandchildren. Her passion to reach out to them resulted in two books, What’s in our Community and What’s on the Farm. The latter is based on her experience living on a farm and raising a family there. Using a simple yet captivating narrative, McIntosh lets readers meet a host of adorable characters that live on the farm—including a family of horses, cows and ducks. The uniquely beautiful illustrations that accompany the story are created using a careful technique known as “stippling”.

The drawings leave room for the child to use their own imagination to fill in the dots as they enjoy the book,” says McIntosh.

Fun and informative, What's on the Farm is a welcome addition to any collection of children’s books. It is a wonderful celebration of the art of storytelling and the vibrancy of a child’s imagination.

Patricia L. McIntosh Takes Readers on a Visual Tour on What Makes Up a Community
New children’s book will delight young readers as well as parents and teachers who want to make storytelling a
more rewarding experience
DUNKERTON, Iowa – Reading books to children can help them develop their creativity, comprehension, listening
skills and imagination. This activity can also be a great time for parents and their young ones to bond. Parents
looking for a book that will make storytelling both an entertaining and educating experience should get a copy of
Patricia L. McIntosh’s new storybook, What’s in our Community?.
McIntosh has always loved art and used this passion to connect with her grandchildren.
“I have twelve grandchildren whom I enjoy doing art projects and drawing with. It’s because of the grand kids that I
decided to put some of my drawing into a book and create something for them to read and learn from. Their little
minds are absorbing so much right now,” she says.
Her efforts have resulted in two books, What's on the Farm? and What's in our Community?. In the latter, McIntosh
takes readers on a visual tour around the community. She uses a combination of charming illustrations (created
using a meticulous and distinctive technique called “stippling”) and catchy descriptions to depict the different
buildings and the residents that make up a community.
Excellent for reading alone or out aloud, What's in our Community? is created especially for young readers as well
as parents and teachers who want to make storytelling time a more rewarding experience.
